LiDAR

LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) is a technology that allows measuring the distance between a sensor and an object, through a laser light beam to obtain georeferenced positioning measurements by means of highly accurate three-dimensional digital models.

VALUE-ADDED SERVICES IN LIDAR

  • We process and combine airborne, ground-based and mobile LiDAR data.
  • We generate high precision source models for engineering designs.
  • We generate information in LAS, CAD and GIS formats of geometric and descriptive characteristics.
  • Processes of classification, interpretation and extraction of elements.

We offer three types of LiDAR capture services: Stationary Ground-based LiDAR, Airborne LiDAR and Rover LiDAR.

VALUE-ADDED SERVICES IN LIDAR
STATIONARY TERRESTRIAL LIDAR Trimble TX8

STATIONARY TERRESTRIAL LIDAR:

The Lidar is installed on a tripod and obtains information from areas of limited size such as buildings or slopes, which allows a high accuracy in data acquisition.

This technique is ideal for:

  • 3D modeling of constructions.
  • infrastructure Inventory.
  • Calculation of structural dimensions.
  • Digitization of environments.

Applications:

  • Furniture inventories.
  • Infrastructure and construction surveys.
  • Construction monitoring and control.

AIRBORNE LIDAR

The Lidar system is installed on an unmanned vehicle: drone or airplane that allows the capture and modeling of large areas of terrain.

This technique is ideal for:

  • Generation of slope maps.
  • DTM (Digital Terrain Model), DEM (Digital Elevation Model) and DSM (Digital Surface Model) generation.
  • Contour Line Generation.
  • Orthorectification of Photographs.
  • LiDAR 3D Mobile Mapping System.
AIRBORNE LiDAR 3D
LiDAR ROVER

LIDAR ROVER

The data obtained by the system on board a moving vehicle, in the form of clouds of millions of points and optical images, allow to obtain detailed lateral, upper and lower ground surfaces, determining the shapes and three-dimensional locations of all elements such as roads, trees, buildings, service infrastructure and much more. Additionally, it is possible to observe descriptive and visual elements such as signs, nomenclature and their state of deterioration or conservation.

Fields of application:

  • Transportation and Mobility
  • Urban Infrastructure
  • Environment
  • Geomarketing
  • Track engineering
  • Hydrocarbons
  • Utilities and Cadastre
  • Signaling and road condition
ADVANTAGES THERMO LiDAR

ADVANTAGES

  • Speed: Allows many kilometers of 3D data to be collected on a daily basis.
  • Efficient management of human and technical resources, since it only requires one operator on board the cell phone.
  • Actual registration of the field information as it combines photos and point clouds.
  • Tool for immediate office decision making.
  • Low costs compared to traditional census and field surveying methods.
  • High availability the vehicle can be moved quickly with the system to any location.
  • Periodicity: Allows review of sites for change detection.
  • High precision thanks to millions of 3D points obtained.
  • Interchangeable: Se can export both photographic information to JPG and BMP formats, as well as points to CAD and GIS formats.
ADVANTAGES THERMO LiDAR APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

  • Inventories of urban and intermunicipal road infrastructure.
  • Utility infrastructure survey.
  • Urban, real estate and environmental censuses.
  • Continuous and high precision surveying.
  • Monitoring and control of civil works.
  • Property and cadastral survey processes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

LiDAR, or Light Detection and Ranging, utilizes laser beams to measure distances between a sensor and objects, creating precise 3D digital models with georeferenced positioning.

We provide three primary LiDAR capture services: Stationary Ground-based LiDAR, Airborne LiDAR, and Rover LiDAR.

Stationary Terrestrial LiDAR, like the Trimble TX8, is ideal for limited areas such as buildings or slopes, ensuring high accuracy in data acquisition. It’s suitable for tasks like 3D modeling, infrastructure inventory, and calculating structural dimensions.

Airborne LiDAR is optimal for generating slope maps, Digital Terrain Models (DTM), Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Digital Surface Models (DSM), contour line generation, and orthorectification of photographs over vast terrains.

LiDAR Rover gathers data from a moving vehicle, providing detailed 3D information on ground surfaces, elements like roads, trees, buildings, and infrastructure. It also captures visual details such as signs and their condition.

Thermo LiDAR offers rapid data collection, efficient resource management, real-time field information registration, cost-effectiveness, high precision, quick mobility, periodic site reviews, and compatibility with various data export formats.

By combining photos and point clouds, Thermo LiDAR provides immediate office decision-making tools due to its real-time data capture and representation.

Thermo LiDAR finds applications in urban and intermunicipal road infrastructure inventories, utility infrastructure surveys, urban, real estate, and environmental censuses, continuous high-precision surveying, monitoring civil works, and property cadastral surveys.

Absolutely, Thermo LiDAR can export photographic information to JPG and BMP formats and points to CAD and GIS formats, ensuring compatibility and ease of use across different systems.

With its high precision and periodic review capabilities, Thermo LiDAR facilitates change detection in surveyed areas while maintaining consistently high surveying accuracy.
